Found in 1870, Hiawassee, the beautiful, well-known mountain area, is said to be named after a Native America Princess.With a population of less than 1000 people, its a perfect secluded getaway for you and your family!

Bell Mountain:

Bell Mountain is an 18 acre summit at one of the tallest mountains in Hiawassee. Drive up the mountain and gaze upon miles and miles of pure beauty. Be sure to bring a camera!

Hiking Trials:

Here are a list of nearby hiking trails. Some are easy and some are for the more advanced hiker. Either way, you’ll have a great time adventuring in the great Georgia weather!

Lake Chatuge:

This TVA lake with about 132 miles of shoreline is one of the largest lakes in North Georgia. With a maximum depth of 144 feet, this local attraction is dotted with boat ramps, campgrounds, and designated swimming and picnic areas. There are also many boat and other water sport rental businesses to make your lake experience great!

High Shoals Falls:

This 2.4 mile trial ends in a grand surprise you’ll be dying to catch a glimpse of. High Shoals is an 80 foot waterfall that a favorite local adventure.

Fred Hamilton Gardens:

This botanical paradise fairly bursting with dogwoods, tulip magnolias, native azaleas, wild flowers, trillium, and of course, rhododendron is quite special. There are over 400 varieties of rhododendron – 3,000 plants in all. Stroll tranquil pine bark trails as they wind through lush foliage. Drink in the stunning views of Lake Chatuge and breathtaking countryside, including the majestic rise of Brasstown Bald, Georgia’s highest peak.

This local vineyard has been creating award-winning North Georgia wines since 2011. Join them for live music from March through October every Saturday from 2:00 – 5:00pm with a special evening concert the first Saturday of each month from 6:00 – 9:00.
