Blairsville is a city and the county seat of Union County, on the northern border of Georgia, United States.[4] It was founded near the Nottely River, which was dammed in 1942 as part of the Tennessee Valley Authority project, forming Lake Nottely. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 616.

Lake Nottely:

Formed in 1942 by the damming of the Nottely River, Nottely Reservoir extends 20 miles (30 km) upstream to the town of Blairsville. Enjoy the Beauty of this Lake with several Marinas and Boat Rentals are available, and you can also bring your boat and enjoy the beauty of this Lake.

If you enjoy fishing, Lake Nottely is a Great Lake for you and your family.

Hiking Trials: Here are a list of nearby hiking trails. Some are easy and some are for the more advanced hiker. Either way, you’ll have a great time adventuring in the great Georgia weather!

Helton Creek Falls:

Helton Creek Falls is a series of two big waterfalls located within the Chattahoochee National Forest in Union CountyGeorgia. Just South of Blairsville off Highway 129. Short hike to falls but worth the effort. Bring the family and Enjoy the Beauty of Nature but don’t forget the camera. You will surley want some family photos with this beautiful waterfall in the background.

Vogel State Park:

Vogel State Park is a 233-acre (0.94 km2) or 94 hectares state park located at the base of Blood Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest. It became one of the first two parks in Georgia when it founded a state park system in 1931.[1][2] Much of the park was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s.

The park features streams, a waterfall, and Lake Trahlyta.[3] At 2,500 feet (760 m) elevation it is one of Georgia’s highest altitude state parks. The mountainous habitats surrounding the lake support a wide assortment of plants and animals.

Within the park are a series of hiking trails. These include the Bear Hair Gap Trail and the more strenuous Coosa Backcountry Trail, which leads up toward Blood Mountain and the Appalachian Trail near Neel Gap. Vogel Park features camping sites, cabins, swimming, boating and other recreational activities.
