Things To Do:

Previously controlled by the Cherokee Indians, Blue Ridge was not inhabited by white settlers until the late 1700’s. These settlers came from the north, unlike other areas in Georgia where the settlers came from the east. The county itself was created in 1854, and has become a great Georgia attraction ever since. With its great resources for farming a raising animals and also many attractions that are meant for all ages, Blue Ridge is one of the top tourist attractions in Northeast Georgia.

Blue Ridge Scenic Railway:

Take a ride on the historical locomotive located in Downtown Blue Ridge. This 26 mile round trip takes you to some of North Georgia’s most beautiful scenery, and even making a stop in Tennessee! Sit back as you wing along the Toccoa river and enjoy the beautiful Georgia weather. The railway holds events throughout the year. Shops and Restaurants:

Enjoy a nice walk down Main Street and visit the shops of Downtown Blue Ridge. It’s dotted with antiques shops, boutiques, adventure wear stores and restaurants. Its even home to the Sweet Shoppe, winner of the Food Network series Cupcake Wars!

Waterfalls, Hiking Trails, Lakes and Parks:

 
Aska Trails:

This combined 17-mile hiking and mountain biking area is a good place to get out and excerice or adventure with friends and family. Stroll through the beautiful mountain country and stop and take some pictures of Lake Blue Ridge.

City Park:

A popular place for picnics, family and community gatherings and other events, the Blue Ridge City Park is a local favorite. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter for up-to-date information of upcoming events happening here!

Lake Blue Ridge:

This 3,290-acre lake has a maximum depth of 246 feet and is a local attraction that attracts visitors from all around. The lake is dotted with boat ramps, a full-service marina, and designated swimming and picnic areas.

Lilly Pad Village:

In the center of the Aska Adventure Area, there’s a small getaway where you and your family can take the time to play some mini golf, try your hand at mining for gemstones, and even fish for the variety of fish they keep stocked in their pond.

Waterfall Trials:

Here is a list of waterfall trails found in Blue Ridge. Take a short hike up these beautiful Georgia trails and gaze upon the surprises they have in store at the end. Each waterfall is gorgeous and definitely worth the hike. You’ll want to bring a camera!

Escape Room:

Put you, your family, and your friends to the test in this thrill attraction meant to test your mind and deduction skills. You have one hour to escape a room filled with puzzles and clues. Can you escape?

Swann Drive-In Theater:

This historic drive-in theater is a local favorite that attracts guests from all over. Come sit back and watched the big screen while getting a taste of what it was like before the classic movie theater. Try their famous fried Oreos!

Adventure Ropes Course:

This 125-acre property is perfect for a fun time with the family. This seasonal ropes course is the first to come to Blue Ridge and is a local favorite. They also provide seasonal zipline tours.

Zipline Tours:

Sour through the trees and over the mountains on a 6,000 foot combined zip line tour. This 75 foot high ride covers a 160-acre property, giving it’s guests a ride of a lifetime!

Light Up Blue Ridge:

The Saturday after Thanksgiving Day is always exciting in Blue Ridge. Come join the local community as we celebrate this time of year with exciting annual events such as a parade, pictures with Santa, and the lighting of the “Giant Tree” which, this year, stood 27-feet tall! This event is great for the whole family and has activities for people of all ages!

Arts in the Park Festival:

Come visit over 200 vendors in the Downtown Blue Ridge Park each spring and look and purchase their beautiful, one-of-a-kind, handmade artwork.
